Non Creamy Layer Certificate
Non-Creamy Layer Certificate is also known as Other Backward Class Certificate, was introduced by former Prime Minister V.P.Singh in 1993. With the implementation of this certificate, a part of jobs was allocated in Central Government and Public Sectors for persons holding the certificate.
Why is non-creamy layer certificate required?
The Government of India uses Other Backward Classes to classify educated castes and socially disenfranchised castes. This non-creamy layer certificate is one of the official classifications for Indians, along with Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SCs and STs).
What is the criteria for non creamy layer in Maharashtra?
If the total family income is less than 8 lakh per Annum, the family is considered to fall in the non-creamy OBC category. Such families are entitled to a certificate of non-creamy layer.
The whole process of issuing the Non-Creamy Layer Certificate will take a maximum of 30 – 45 (thirty to forty five) working days.
